Mercedes-Benz S580 MANSORY 2022

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz S580L features an extensive array of crash-avoidance technology, and all long-wheelbase variants of the new-generation Mercedes-Benz S Class are equipped with 12 rather than 10 airbags.

There are two additional airbags (one behind each front seat) meant to protect passengers in the two outboard rear seats.

This type of rear-facing airbag for back seat passengers is believed to be a world first. It is in addition to the two frontal airbags and two side airbags for front seat occupants, the side airbags for rear-seat occupants, the full-length curtain airbags, the driver’s knee airbag, and the centre airbag between the front seats.

Standard safety features include low- and high-speed autonomous emergency braking, blind-zone alert, lane-guidance assistance, a 360-degree video vision, and front and rear parking sensors.

The precision of lane-keeping systems differs significantly between automobile manufacturers. Mercedes-Benz tends to have one of the most accurate systems, however the technology still only works approximately 60% of the time (depending on visibility and the accuracy of the lane lines) and can be fairly forceful when intervening.
